Before entering academia, Dr. Namgung served as a law enforcement officer in South Korea for more than 15 years, gaining deep, firsthand operational knowledge of the justice system. Transitioning his field experience into rigorous scholarship, he earned Master's and Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, alongside a Master's in Public Administration (with Police Studies) from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom.
As a dedicated researcher and teacher at Metropolitan State University of Denver, Dr. Namgung has spent years training others in quantitative and qualitative research methods, policy evaluation, and spatial thinking.
